Nurturing of raw youth into confident young men and make them ready to serve the nation is really a scared task which Military College Sui is accomplishing with sincere and dedicated efforts. These aspiring young boys find their first abode and make it their home as Iqbal House. With the slogan of ‘Aim to Lead’, they get a perfect platform that would lead them to their radiant future and successful career. These cadets who come from different sociocultural backgrounds are knit into the bond of harmony and love. The ever-smiling faces of house officers welcome them and they forget the pangs of pain and agony of leaving their parents. The house is very well-maintained with spacious dorms and well-maintained sprawling lawns. Their personalities are refined and polished by highly qualified team of officers. Iqbal House is equipped with the state-of-the-art recreational facilities which cadets can enjoy in their leisure time. Cadets are given opportunities to play different sports to develop sportsmanship, comradeship and competitive spirit which are hallmarks of a budding young cadet. They are given multiple chances to participate in different sports events like athletics to exhibit their stamina and sporting skills. Co-curricular activities like Declamation, Debate, Naat & Qiraat competitions enhance their requisite skills and transform them into excellent orators. The House is divided into two wings i.e. Alpha and Bravo for better performance and to inculcate the spirit of competition and camaraderie. Both the wings participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities with full zeal and enthusiasm and the cadets try their best to bring their respective wings to the glory. In Inter-Wing Declamation Competition 2019, Cadet Haider-e-Qarrar of Alpha Wing was declared winner of English category with a fiery speech while Cadet Imran Khan of same wing clinched first position in Urdu category and won generous applause from the audience. In Naat Competition, Cadet Muhammad Zubair of Bravo wing got first prize followed by Cadet Muhammad Bilal of Alpha Wing. Qiraat competition was won by Cadet Hafiz Abdul Basit of Bravo Wing followed by Cadet Hafiz Muhammad Abdullah of Alpha Wing. Iqbalians were quite animated in athletics competitions and were anxious to showcase their talent, though they got opportunity in running events only. In 100 m (Juniors) race, Cadet Tariq Majeed outshone his contenders and achieved a thrilling win. In 200 m (Juniors) race, Cadet Tariq Ahmed was unrivalled champion. These bourgeoning athletes were not only awarded with medals but also ovation from all the spectators. With the passage of time these young eaglets will turn into confident young men ready to take on world with their steely determination and will become defenders of their motherland.

Jinnah House started the new session with full zeal, new dreams and plans for the upcoming events. In Naat and Qiraat competition, cadets of Jinnah House participated with great enthusiasm. Cadet Shuja Ur Rehman clinched 2nd position in Qiraat while Cadet Siraj got 3rd position in Naat competition. In Inter-House Football Competition, the wind was not in favour of Jinnah House and cadets could not achieve their desired goals. Bad luck followed in Cross Country when they fell short of their goal but Cadet Muhammad Farooq redeemed some of their pride by securing overall 7th position. The sportsmen of Jinnah House outshined their rivals in Inter-House Volleyball Championship 2018. Their spotless performance enabled them winning the trophy without much resistance from opponents. Cadet Umair Tayyab was declared the best player. Jinnah House remained runner up in Inter-House Basketball Championship. They marched to final with resolve but lost in a nail-biting final. The Jinnah House cricket team could not perform well as they were comprehensively beaten by their rivals. They came back strongly in Athletics Championship. By indomitable resolve, they regained their lost pride by clinching the Athletics trophy dominating different track and field events. Cadets Faizan Mustafa, Waqar Ahmed, Usama Shoukat, Ehsan Ali and Abdul Rahim were instrumental in this achievement. The young athletes displayed amazing sportsman spirit. Same spirit was shown in Inter-House Physical Efficiency test where Jinnah House secured 1st position. Cadet Muhammad Farooq got overall 3rd position in the College. They also performed well in the field of Academics. All three positions of Matric were clinched by Jinnah House. Cadet Muhammad Bilal secured 1st, Cadet Hussain 2nd while Cadet Raheem got 3rd position. Cadet Muhammad Talha got 13th position in the Balochistan Board in SSC exams. Cadet Muhammad Asim secured 1st position in 1st year Balochistan Board exam. Cadets continued their impressive performance in co-curricular activities. The orators of the Jinnah House proved their mettle in All Pakistan Inter-Collegiate Declamation Competition. Cadet Yussouf Javed and Cadet Shaukat Ali of Jinnah House represented the College at Cadet College Petaro and got 1st and 5th positions respectively in Urdu and English category.
Cadet Yussouf Javed was again declared best cadet in Urdu category in Inter-House Declamation Competition 2018. Cadet Muhammad Yussouf got 2nd position in English category. Jinnah House became runner up in Quiz competition and lost to the champions in a close finish. In Calligraphy competition, Cadet Farrukh Aslam clinched second position while Cadet Salman stood 2nd in Painting Competition. Owing to their consistent performance in academics, Jinnah House was able to lift Academic Trophy along with Sher Shah House. By a narrow margin Jinnah House lost to Haider House in the run for Sports Trophy 2018. Cadet Muhammad Shahban received award for overall best actor in the Drama Club on the eve of Annual Parents’ Day. The cadets of the House participated in all the competitions with great enthusiasm and they are determined to clinch COAS trophy in the next session.

Reigning champions of COAS Trophy had narrowed on the coveted title right from the outset and were in upbeat mood to repeat the feat again. The footballers started well and reached the final but were beaten in a nail-biting thriller. They tried hard to salvage their pride in Cross Country competition but hard luck again followed them and they had to swallow the bitter pill again and ended up as runners up. Their fortune hung in balance in Volleyball championship as they got tough resistance in the final from Jinnah House and lost again. They were down and out in Basketball competition as their spineless performance saw them sliding down the ladder of performance. The evening of 5th October 2018 brought them more agony as the champions of previous edition were once again beaten by Haider House in another high-intensity final of cricket championship. The disheartened Sher Shah House tried to make amends in Athletics championship, but could only manage third position. Some individual brilliant performances in Relay Races and Javelin throw gave them some solace. Cadet Ramzan won gold medal in Javelin throw on their day of misfortunes. In a nutshell, the sports arena proved to be Achilles’ heel for them. Sher Shah House started the campaign of Co-Curricular Trophy by clinching 2nd position in Naat & Qiraat competition as Cadet Muhammad Zeeshan won 1st position in Naat competition. The best performance of the House came in Quiz competition as team Sher Shah dominated and won competition without much ado. Cadet Hamza Riaz Cheema was declared the ‘Mastermind MCS’ owing to his spotless individual performance. The orators of the House kept the flag afloat by winning Inter-House Declamation Competition 2018. Cadet Umair Afzaal won 1st position in English category while Cadet Muhammad Bin Shahzad was the runner up in Urdu category. Cadet Muhammad Bin Shahzad (English category) and Cadet Jamal Khan (Urdu Category) of Sher Shah House brought laurels to the College by winning first ever team trophy in All Pakistan Inter Collegiate Declamation competition held at Lawrence College Ghora Gali, Murree; winning 1st and 3rd positions respectively. In Inter-House Painting competition, they kept their dominance by winning 1st position as Cadet Bilal Aslam secured 1st position. This winning streak in these competitions enabled them to become the proud winners of Co-Curricular Trophy. Academics being their strong hold, Sher Shah House maintained their exceptional performance of the previous year as Cadet Saad Khan and Cadet Muhammad Farhan of 2nd Year class got 6th and 7th positions respectively in Balochistan Board HSSC exam. This impressive performance was repeated by their successors of 1st Year as Cadet Ahsan Khalid and Muhammad Ahmad clinched 3rd and 6th positions respectively in Balochistan Board. The junior classes followed their footprints and they were declared joint champions of Academic Trophy along with Jinnah House. Owing to their all-round performance in academics and co-curricular competitions and satisfactory performance in sports arena, they proved to be the rightful contenders of COAS Trophy consecutively for the 2nd time as they proudly lifted three trophies out of four and completely dominated the show on the eve of Annual Parents’ Day 2018. The juniors have the talent and promise to repeat the feat in the coming year as well.

Cadet Afzal Gul
This year cadets of Haider House displayed remarkable zeal and enthusiasm in competitions of Sports and Co-Curricular Trophy. Their teeming confidence and enthusiasm were the right signposts for their march to unabated glory in sporting arena and their footballers steered them right from the outset. They got a dream start in their campaign with thrilling win in Football Championship by overthrowing reigning champions. In Cricket Championship they defeated the defending champions Sher Shah House in another nail-biting finish. Cadet Shaek Javed was declared the best player of the tournament due to his consistent batting performance. They were unstoppable in Inter-House Basketball Championship with Cadet Waqas Ayub who single-handedly enabled them to lift the trophy. They were down and out in Physical Efficiency Test and could not display their true talents but came back strongly in Athletics Championship by clinching 2nd position. Cadet Rehmat Ullah inspired them to reach victory stand with two Gold Medals and was declared the best athlete of the year. They ran with the show in 100 m, 200 m, 1500 m and 4×400 m races with Cadet Mohtashim Mukhatiar, Cadet Rehmat Shah and Cadet Nasrullah Khan carried the day for them. They maintained their dominance in Discuss Throw and Long Jump as well to become rightful champions of the event. Cross Country again proved their stronghold as they emerged as the champions with great exhibition of strength, endurance and stamina. Cadet Nasrullah was declared the best runner of the competition who inspired them to such convincing victory. In the competitions of CoCurricular Trophy, they started impressively as Cadet Salahudin secured 1st position in Inter-House Calligraphy competition. In Naat and Qiraat competition Cadet Afzal Gul and Cadet Aamirullah enabled Haider House to clinch 1st position. Cadet Afzal Gul was declared the best Qari while Cadet Aamirullah secured 2nd position in Naat competition. They hit the rock bottom in Declamation competition as their debaters ruined their good work and dampened their prospects and spirits. Lacklustre performance in Inter-House Quiz Competition could not change their fortune either, they again stumbled and could manage humiliating last position. Overall performance of the House touched the lowest ebb in Co-Curricular Trophy. The cadets of Haider House could not perform well in academics and were languishing at last position in the run for Academics Trophy. The performance of the cadets in drill and gymnastics was a sign of relief for Haderians. Cadets of the House exhibited impressive performance in Drill as Cadet Awais Amin was declared the best cadet in drill. Cadet Rehmat Shah was declared the best performer in Gymnastics on Annual Parents’ Day 2018. The cadets of Haider House are in upbeat mood to hang tough and ready to uphold their self-esteem and change their fate in next session.
